This photo was taken years and years ago…I really don’t remember when, but it was before I ever got serious about photography. I used to sell it in my early days, but for a long time the colour slide has sat in a box totally unseen. It is only very recently I have rediscovered it, and (like many of my old photos) the slide had deteriorated.
A few years ago, you would just throw these slides away – what else could you do with them? Luckily I am a complete slackass and never got around to throwing them out, because now, thanks to the magic of scanning and digital technology, it is possible to restore all these old images.
This photo has now been lovingly restored, and it was no easy task. The slide had little black spots all over, and the only way to remove them with automated processes would also remove some essential details of the picture. So I have removed each spot, one by one, over hours and hours.
Who knows, maybe I will never sell the photo again, but it is nice to see these images from my early days brought back to life.
Hope you like the shot. Don’t forget to check out my website www.naturesimage.com.au
